Harvest is the fourth planet from it’s star, located in the Epsilon Indi system around 12 lightyears from Earth. Although she is practically on Earth’s front door, she was once considered the most remote colony in human-owned space. Harvest is a small world, being around 4,000 km at the equator, making it smaller than Mercury. She is also geologically stable and is overall dominated by rolling plains; the only noteable mountains on the planet seperate Edda, a supercontinent that makes up nearly all of the planet’s landmass and covers two-thirds of the surface.
First established in 2468, she was set up as an agricultural colony thanks to her promising landscape and comfy growing conditions. She also lacked much in terms of population, boasting a mere 300,000 or so at her peak. Regardless, Harvest’s importance lies in her infamous legacy: she was the first planet discovered by the Covenant alliance, and fell to their forces quickly. With the Battle of Harvest being quick, the Human-Covenant War just as quickly began. Ultimately, the small farming world fell to the might Covenant and their tremendous glassing-attacks, rendering the planet inhospitable.
Though reterraforming is possible with the war over, she still sits with the scars she acquired once she fell, over 30 years later.
