Our server typically hosts roleplay events three to four times a week, sometimes more, offering a variety of scenarios. This guide provides the fundamental skills and knowledge necessary for effective roleplay.

In TROA RP, we aim to incorporate basic roleplay into our server activities. This enhances the scenes, making them more enjoyable and immersive for everyone involved.
Roleplaying as an Emergency Worker
When roleplaying as an emergency worker, you must consistently portray that role. This guide includes tips on communication, on-scene behavior, and professionalism. Only civilian-trained members can create scenes intentionally. If you are not trained, you should not be creating scenes.
How to Roleplay
Your roleplay is guided by your imagination, as long as you follow the rules and maintain your emergency worker role. You can develop a character with a backstory or simply roleplay as any emergency worker. Keep in mind that civilian roleplays are usually scripted, so if you ask for information correctly, it will typically be provided.
You don't always have to roleplay with civilians immediately. Feel free to interact with AI to build confidence. Roleplay is never forced; if you feel uncomfortable, you can request to end the scene or step away.
Effective Communication as an Emergency Worker
Professional Communication
As an emergency worker, it's important to communicate with professionalism and empathy. Ensure that individuals feel heard and understood. Use phrases like:
- "I understand..."
- "I'm sorry that..."
- "I assure you..."
- "What do you think we could do?"
- "Is there anything I can do to help?"
Building Trust
When interacting, especially with victims, witnesses, patients, or suspects, aim to establish trust. Adapt your communication style to the person you're speaking with, sometimes using techniques like good cop/bad cop. Building this connection encourages them to share more information and report incidents willingly in the future.
Arrest Procedures
When arresting someone, always read their caution:
"You do not have to say anything. But, it may harm your defense if you do not mention when questioned something which you later rely on in court. Anything you do say may be given in evidence."
As the arresting officer, search the suspect on the scene under Section 32 of PACE before requesting prisoner transport. Inform the custody officer of the search results. You may also say:
"Under Section 32 of PACE, I will now search you because you have been arrested for... Do you have anything on you that may harm me or my colleagues? If you fail to mention something that later harms us, you may be charged with assault."
Maintaining Professionalism
Always display professionalism while roleplaying. This doesn’t mean you can’t have fun, but remember to act as an emergency worker would. Not doing so may result in a warning from a moderator.
Respect higher ranks and everyone else on the server. This is crucial for roleplay and following the rules.
Driving Standards
When driving in the server, follow road laws at all times. Use common sense regarding speed limits: city/single roads (30mph), larger roads (50mph), and do not exceed 100mph.
Consequences of Inappropriate Driving
Inappropriate driving can lead to a verbal warning or a strike on your record, which can negatively impact your role within TROA RP. All divisions follow the Moderation Policy for disciplinary actions.

- Highways: 60-70mph
